The OpenSolaris Developer Conference 2007 will take place at the "Freie University Berlin". (Please note that we had to move the venue!)

The conference will be hosted in the building of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the "Freie University Berlin", Arnimallee 6, D-14195 Berlin.

Travel directions, public transport

Please find below some directions how to get there. Berlin has a large public transport system, operated by BVG. Their web site also provides timetables, routes and maps and a mobile journey planner for all kinds of mobile/cell phones, PDA and the like.

If you arrive either by air plane or train we put together some info how to reach the venue:

• For people arriving by train from Berlin main station.
• If you approach Berlin by train from the west you might be better off to get off at station Berlin Spandau and use BVG from there.
• By plane from Airport Tegel (the closer one)
• or by plane from Airport Schönefeld.

From the stop of the U-Bahn "Dahlem-Dorf" it's a couple of minutes walk to the venue. Further directions are provided by the FU.

In general Germany has a good railway system (Berlin is 2h from Dresden, 1:30h from Hanover or Hamburg), operated mostly by the Deutsche Bahn. If you need a ticket this guide might be helpful.

Travel directions, arriving by car

If you use your car Google Maps is probably your best friend.

• From north east leave the A100 to Steglitz.
• Northbound leave the A100 onto the A103/B1 and Steglitzer Damm.
• Eastbound leave the A115 before it becomes the "Avus" at the ramp Berlin-Zehlendorf.

Speakers hotel

Our hotel is the Ramada Plaza Berlin, Prager Platz. It's located more towards the city center. Here are some driving directions to the venue.

In order to reach the conference by public transport you have to use the U3, entering at "Spichernstraße" direction "Krumme Lanke" and leave at "Dahlem Dorf". From there it's a few minutes walk to the venue.
